Ohioans Will Need License To Sell On eBay
Law To Take Effect May 2

CLEVELAND -- Ohio lawmakers are promising to fix a new law that would force some individuals to get an auctioneer's license to sell something on eBay.

The law is scheduled to take effect on May 2.

Lawmakers say it was intended to regulate auctioneers, not individuals who sell something through an Internet auction house. But the law would indeed apply to some such individuals.

The lawmakers say they'll rewrite it before it goes into effect next month.

Governor Bob Taft signed the bill last month. An aide says the governor has asked for a clarification.
